Wired Tree Managed VPS For Magento | Simple Helix Magento Hosting
I’ve been around the block a few times looking for the best Magento hosting companies. To be honest, there really aren’t very many options that are catered specifically for Magento. For the least expensive options, you’ve basically got Simple Helix, and Wired Tree.
Simple Helix is fully dedicated to Magento and they will help you with any issues you may have before, during, or even after installing your Magento store. They are usually quick to respond, and will provide answers that are actually catered to Magento. This definitely comes in handy for the average noob. Plus, they have the famous one-click-install for Magento. I like Simple Helix, but I’ve found that I like WiredTree quite a bit better.
Wired Tree doesn’t necessarily “specialize” in hosting Magento stores per se, but they rock at it anyways. You won’t see banners all over their home page bragging about how kick-ass their Magento hosting is or anything, but I’m here to tell you that they do host Magento, and they host it well. My stores are faster than they ever were when I was using Simple Helix, and although their support doesn’t really help you with the technicalities of Magento, they are super quick to respond (usually within 10 minutes).
Both WiredTree and Simple Helix are great Magento hosting companies. It basically comes down to what you can afford, and whether you are a complete noob or not. If you’re brand new to Magento, I might suggest going with Simple Helix, just cause they seem to spoon feed more. If you’re familiar with Magento however, and are tired of crappy, slow, hosting companies, then you may want to go with WiredTree.
For WiredTree, I’m on the 1024 Managed VPS. I use this plan to host a few of my Magento stores as well as several of my random blogs and websites, so if you get the 1024 plan then it should be the only hosting plan you will ever need. Before moving to the 1024 Managed VPS I was on the 512 Managed VPS. That account is a little cheaper, worked fine, and I’d still be there if Wired Tree didn’t kindly upgrade my account for free.
